    Aim: Breast cancer treatment with neoadjuvant chemotherapy requires biomolecular indicators to help tailor treatments and chemotherapy to specific patients. The effectiveness of neoadjuvant chemotherapy cannot yet be predicted by a biomolecular approach. This research analyzed the expression of vimentin, E-cadherin, an d CD44+/CD24− to find biomolecular predictors of response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer subtype Stage III patients. Material and Methods: Samples were collected from patients with breast cancer Stage IIIB subtype luminal undergoing treatment at Dr. Saiful Anwar General Hospital in Malang, Indonesia. The expression levels of vimentin, E-cadherin, and CD44+/CD24− were analyzed immunohistochemically. Result and Discussion: This study showed that neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment decreased vimentin and increased E-cadherin expression. A positive result for CD44+/CD24− expression was found in patients that responded to chemotherapy for breast cancer subtype luminal Stage IIIB. Conclusion: In conclusion, vimentin, E-cadherin, and CD44+/CD24− can be utilized as biomolecular predictors of response to anthracycline-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer Stage IIIB subtype luminal.
