Background: Malocclusion is a common finding, although it is not usually serious enough to require treatment. Correction of malocclusion may reduce the risk of tooth decay and help to relieve excessive pressure on the temporomandibular joint. Orthodontic treatment is also used to align for esthetic reasons. Malocclusions may be coupled with skeletal disharmony of the face, where the relations between the upper and lower jaws are not appropriate. Most of the skeletal malocclusions can only be treated by orthognathic surgery. Extra teeth, lost teeth, impacted teeth, or abnormally shaped teeth have been cited as causes of malocclusion. Aim: The aim of the study was to estimate the knowledge and awareness on the status of malocclusion among adolescents in urban area. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire was prepared. The survey was conducted among the adolescents in an urban area. This survey was done with the consent of parents and questions were asked. A total of 75 responses were collected. The questionnaire consists of 16 questions. Results: A total of 75 people responded for the online survey. The adolescents who responded were in the age group of 11–18 years. Malocclusions are mostly seen in adolescents. It is not only misalignment of teeth but also includes crowding of teeth and spaces between their teeth. This research shows that, nowadays, most of them maintain oral hygiene and they take time out to do so. Conclusion: It can be concluded that this survey study alone is not necessarily a suitable predictor to tell if the adolescents are facing this problem. Most of them are aware of malocclusion but not the ill effects. Moreover, almost all of them are going through orthodontic treatments, nowadays, that they pay more attention toward oral health and hygiene.
