    The flavonoid, a natural product and a group of low molecular weight phenyl benzopyrenes, constitutes a significant part of our daily diet. They are rich in fruits, vegetables, flowers, tea, and wine and are known for its health benefits attributing to antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, antimutagenic, antimicrobial, anticancer, antiallergic, and antiviral properties. Flavonoids are inevitable in various medicinal, nutraceutical, and cosmetic applications. Currently, researches are focusing on isolating and identifying several flavonoids from different natural sources and evaluating its numerous biological effects. The present review attempts to discuss the antiviral activity of various flavonoids. A few life-threatening and endemic viral diseases were considered in this review with the mechanism of action of flavonoid which is helpful in the development of potential therapeutics in preventing these deadly diseases.
