    Introduction: In recent years, nanotechnology has been emerging as a rapidly growing field. Ficus benghalensis Linn. is a reputed plant in Ayurvedic medicine and commonly known as “Banyan tree.” Several natural resources are present in our country. Most of these drugs are derived from plants. Some of these plants such as F. benghalensis should be screened scientifically for the evaluation of their tissue repairing activity in different pharmacological models. Materials and Methods: Synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) from F. benghalensis extract. Maintenance of cell lines: L929 cells were procured from National Center for Cell Science, Pune. Assay of transforming growth factor (TGF)-alpha: TGF-alpha assay was carried out by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays method. Results: From the study, it is evident that AgNPs with F. benghalensis induced the production of TGF-alpha in L929 cell lines in a dose-dependent manner, as compared to the standard drug. Conclusion: The present study has demonstrated that the AgNPs synthesized from F. benghalensis have properties that render them capable of promoting accelerated tissue repairing.
