    Aim: Actinobacteria are the promising source of bioactive compounds production particularly in drug discovery. However, the development of drug is one of the challenging tasks due to the lacking of production enhancement methods. One of the ways to come out from this problem is the enrichment of medium to enhance the production quantity and quality of bioactive compound. Materials and Methods: Magnesite mine soil contains all essential trace elements. 30 Actinobacterial cultures which were isolated from Yercaud hills (Tamil Nadu) are screened for antagonistic activity. Bioactive compounds have been produced from selected potential cultures and screened for activity against clinical bacterial pathogens. Results: Screening study shows that the influence of magnesite mine soil extract enhanced the bioactive compound production of Actinobacteria. 5–10% of enhancement was occurred in quantity and also efficiency of bioactive compound. Conclusion: The present study demonstrated the influence of trace elements of magnesite mine soil on bioactive compound production from Actinobacteria.
