  • Abstract

A rapid, sensitive and cost effective high performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed and validated for the determination of Ganciclovir in bulk. Ganciclovir was eluted on a pre-packed Phenomenex C-18 (250 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) column with acetonitrile & 10 mM potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate buffer (pH 5.0 ± 0.05; 5: 95, v/v) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min. The detection was carried out at 252 nm. The method is linear with correlation of coefficient greater than 0.998. Percentage RSD of precision study was observed 0.289. The method was rugged showing the percentage RSD of 0.671 and 0.651 for intra-day and inter-day respectively. The method is applicable for the assay of Ganciclovir determination in bulk drug.
