  • Abstract

The aim of the study was to review the effectiveness of midazolam in sedating children in clinic. The objective of this review is to learn more about the effects of midazolam toward children; therefore, it can be helpful in treating physically and mentally challenged children and also uncooperative children. Midazolam is the most lipid-soluble member of the benzodiazepines. The lipophilic nature of midazolam accounts for its rapid absorption and metabolism by the gastrointestinal tract, as well as its efficient entry into brain tissue. This property produces rapid onset and recovery. Most of the children visiting the dental clinic will have a rise in anxiety as their parents have scared them with dentists. This situation will make the pediatric patient be uncooperative and will be difficult to provide treatment. Sedation is one the best method to compromise the children till end the treatment.
