Introduction: Indirect resin composites are also referred to as laboratory composites. The major reason for the failure of the earlier posterior composites was poor wear resistance and stress on the supporting walls of large cavities. Indirect resin composites offer an esthetic alternative for large posterior restorations. Indirect resin composite is also recommended for patients with poor periodontal structures who require board occlusal coverage with stress-absorbing materials. The high amounts of filler content also make them ideal for restoring posterior teeth. Another beneficial feature is the improved marginal adaptation because of lower polymerization contraction when compared with direct composite resin restorations. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was carried out among the dental practitioners of various dental colleges to assess the knowledge, attitude, and awareness. The simple random sample was used to reach the required sample size of 100. A questionnaire consisting of queries on the dental knowledge and the attitude of clinical practitioners on the use of indirect resin composite was carried out. The responses were therefore estimated by collecting the completely filled questionnaire from the 100 dental practitioners. Results: Responses were collected using the online spreadsheet from Google forms and were analyzed. The dental practitioners had a brief knowledge of the use of indirect resin composite. Conclusion: From the data obtained, the degree of awareness among dental practitioners on indirect resin composites has been significantly raised compared to the reference studies done in previous years.
