Background: Mucosal health may be promoted by hygienic and therapeutic measures which are applied in an appropriate method. The usage of tissue conditioner is advantageous as they prepare the preferred oral structures to withstand all the stress from the prosthesis. Although the ease of use in tissue conditioners is evident, the prolonged contact of these dentures may elicit changes in the underlying soft tissues, they may traumatize the oral tissues. Aim: The aim of the survey is to evaluate the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) on the usage of tissue conditioners among South Indian dental practitioners. Study and Design: The survey was conducted among South Indian dental practitioners about their KAP in the usage of tissue conditioners among their complete denture patients. A questionnaire survey was formed and sent to 100 dental practitioners all over in South India through online forms. The data collected were subjected to statistical analysis using frequency of responses and standard deviation. Results: The data acquired from this survey have been represented by descriptive analysis and were shown in pie charts. The survey exhibited that the frequency of dentists to use tissue conditioners is 50% followed by rare usage of tissue conditioners. All the practitioners observed side effects such as candida infections, discoloration of the material, and bad odor. More than 80% of the dentists felt that it improves the fit of the denture. About 79.3% of dentists would prefer to sterilize the dentures with 2% chlorhexidine gluconate. Conclusion: Although the usage of tissue conditioners is easy, the long-term contact of these bases may elicit changes in the underlying oral tissues.
