  • Abstract

The complexity in the fabrication of fixed prosthesis found to be very common in dentistry. There is necessary for it to be maintained. The spark erosion method had become more popular in tool and die industry. Since then, dental profession has adapted its uses for fabricating precision removable partial dentures. Both the screw-retained framework and the removable superstructure are spark eroded to create a very passive and intimate fit. Mechanical failures from a non-passive fit may cause unexpected failure of implant and prosthesis. This may also affect the surrounding gingiva adversely. Spark erosion is expected to offer excellent support, retention, and stability. The stability offered that way is similar to a fixed prosthesis. Many clinical reports describe that the spark erosion method improves the function and esthetics of the prosthesis in long term without the expenses of the commercial laboratory.
