    The range of application of ceramics has been expanding in the past four decades. They have optimal esthetic properties, biocompatibility, color, stability, high wear resistance, and low thermal conductivity. High strength ceramics such as alumina, zirconia, and lithium disilicate meet the requirements of strength and toughness, hence suitable for extensive loads. However, they also present with inconveniences. A comparative insight to the properties, advantages, disadvantages, and indications of the three ceramic materials would help the clinician choose the ideal material for clinical use.
