Title: A case report on management of complex partial seizure with diabetes-associated coronary artery disease overview by clinical pharmacist

    A case study of a 51-year-old male patient was presented to the cardiology ward with complaints of chest pain, breathlessness, giddiness, and headache. His electrocardiogram detected sinus arrhythmia, abnormal Q-wave, poor R-wave progression, and inverted T-wave in anterior leads and echocardiogram showed coronary artery dysfunction and his coronary angiogram exhibited single-vessel disease. Electroencephalogram of the brain exhibited background alpha 8–10 Hz, eye movement’s artifacts, and brain magnetic resonance imaging scan showed small vessel ischemia in bilateral periventricular region and centrum semiovale. The patient had a medical history of seizure which was characterized by sudden loss of consciousness for 2–3 min along with giddiness and dimness of his vision. Hence, the patient was prognosed with complication of diabetes-associated coronary artery disease complaints of complex partial seizures. The patient was incessantly monitored for 1 week duration and prescribed with his regular medications. The patient remained stable, discharged from the hospital with advised for a regular follow-up until 3 months period. The patient was directed to clinical pharmacist services to acquire counseling on the medications, lifestyle modifications, physical exercises, stress management, ketogenic diets, strict medication adherence, and regular follow-up visits. The patient had improved from his condition drastically insisting an imperative need of clinical pharmacist services in such complex disease association, the clinical pharmacist intervention proved providing a better health outcome in the patient.
